Gwyneth Paltrow attended the premiere of Contagion at the Venice Film Festival looking every inch the Hollywood movie star. After a prolonged debate, forum members finally confirmed that the designer of Gwyneth’s mystery dress was Prada.
“Valentino couture from a few collections ago?” lelaid had guessed. “Either way, I think she looks stunning,” he added.
“Looks more Valentino to me than Prada,” liberty33r1b also guessed, “but whatever it is, it's surely stunning!!”
Larien didn’t much care who designed the dress, she just loved the look. “I went crazy and looked at every photo that has been posted and man, she is PERFECT. I am stunned by her look. If it was the Oscars, she would be the best dressed,” she wrote.
Monix confirmed that Gwyneth accessorized with a “Prada ‘Cipria Raso’ hard-case clutch, and Prada ‘Vernice’ patent leather peep-toe platforms.”
“If her PR people say it's a Prada [dress] I guess it is,” iluvjeisa conceded. “But the lower part of the dress sure looks like Valentino Couture F/W 2010 and the overall look isn't very Prada at all.” Hence the reason for the spirited debate within the forums.
An email that fincher received from the Prada Press Office confirmed that the gown was indeed their design. “Gwyneth Paltrow wore Prada at the 68th edition of the Venice Film Festival, on the occasion of both the press conference and the premiere of 'Contagion' on September 3rd, 2011,” the email explained. “For the red carpet, she chose a pale pink silk gazare gown with bow detail on the back and a Prada clutch.”
