The premiere issue of Harper’s Bazaar Brazil makes its debut with Gisele Bundchen photographed by Terry Richardson on the cover. Tapping Gisele for the first issue of a new Brazilian magazine is a savvy move, but Fashion Spot forum member reviews were mixed when it came to the resulting image.
“I wish her hair had been allowed to tumble behind her shoulders like a lion's mane, instead of being tamely restrained like that,” tigerrouge lamented.
Psylocke posted, “I like it. I love that Chanel swimsuit and it's fun. And it's Gisele. Excited to see what's inside. Harper's Bazaar has proven to be a great magazine in quite a few countries… very interested to see what they have come up with.”
Thiago:) commented, “I think it's a good cover. Anything with Gisele definitely grabs my attention. She looks great, ideal amount of text, nice styling. However, the background is too yellow for my taste.”
Style Souk thought, “The screaming yellow background detracts attention from Gisele – especially as her styling (hair, make-up) is low-key – but, credit to her, she still looks bloody gorgeous.”
Is anyone else having flashbacks to Natasha Poly in Fendi's Resort 2012 ads? Blinding yellow backgrounds seem to be having a moment. Gisele is good here, and maybe she could have been better, but even on just a good day, she’s still kind of great.
