Let me just preface this post by admitting I may be totally biased here because I kind of love Laetitia Casta. She used to appear in Guess ads back in the late 90s when it was the cool thing to do, and there was something so accessible about her as far as fashion and models go. In my opinion, she's still got it, so I personally was very pleasantly surprised by her fresh, slightly tousled appearance (in a photograph by Mario Testino) on the cover of Vogue Paris’ May issue.
I wasn’t the only one who was pleased by the cover. “I love the scheme of blue and white… it's simple and fresh. And I don't mind Laetitia on covers one bit as long as she looks this gorgeous,” Melancholybaby posted.
Chanelcouture09 wrote, “I love this, Laetitia looks accessible yet flirtatious. I love the simplicity and they always get the amount of text and the placement just right. I really cannot fault this at all.”
There’s just a wonderfully mature, knowing look in Laetitia’s eyes that makes this cover so refreshing. Covers with up-and-coming models can be unexpected and exciting too, but there’s something to be said for longevity; for seeing an actual woman, rather than a girl playing dress-up, on the cover of a fashion magazine.
