Steven Meisel brought out the best in Gigi Hadid for Max Mara’s latest accessories campaign and now does wonders with the brand’s mainline campaign. Replacing Odetta Pavlova is the model everyone is talking about right now: Faretta. Having already shot with Meisel for Italian Vogue‘s November cover story, Faretta is the new face of Max Mara for Spring 2017. Photographed against a plain white studio backdrop, Carine Roitfeld’s styling does most of the talking while Faretta’s presence and beauty captivates.
Our forums were loving the campaign. “Good for her! She looks beautiful,” raved a delighted dsamg immediately, about to set the tone for comments to follow.
“Those lips and brows!! So glad for Faretta! Love this image, she looks very fresh and cute,” forum member Benn98 admired.
In agreement over how terrific the image looked was stilllikeit: “I love this campaign. Faretta looks so gorgeous as always.”
Vogue28 was in the same boat. “Yet another truly fabulous campaign from Steven Meisel and we’re only on the first campaign here for Max Mara. I have only recently begun to take notice of Faretta, after she stood out on the cover of Vogue Japan by Luigi & Iango, and now she’s a sensation here by Meisel. Pat McGrath has done a wonderful job with Faretta’s makeup!”
“I love it. So simple, yet so very Meisel,” championed gazebo.
“It could be from 2003, 2007 or 2012…but it still hits the spot. Really enjoying the Meisel x Roitfeld collaborations across the board. This image of Faretta might be standard fare for Meisel but it’s still entrancing and better than pretty much every other nonsense campaign I’ve seen elsewhere this season,” complimented Fiercification.
ChimyeeRong felt the same way. “It’s quite classic, simple, pretty and I like it! Faretta looks stunning chic here. She’s like a combination of Daphne Groeneveld and Vanessa Axente to me,” he described.
