Former Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane has shot Prada’s lastest Spring/Summer 2009 menswear ad campaign.
Steven Meisel shot the Spring Summer 2009 women’s line ads which features models Nimue Smit, Giedre Dukauskaite, Sigrid Agren, Toni Garrn, Katrin Thormann, Viktoriya Sasonkina, and Ymre Stiekema styled in natural makeup, French twists, in beige, white, cream, and black frocks.
As for Slimane this is his first time working with Prada on such a project, though he has turned back to photography since leaving his design duties at Dior last year. The menswear ads he took were shot in black and white and are portraits of first time models Louis and Claude Simonon, sons of Paul and Tricia Simonon, the bass player and manager of Punk band The Clash. In a statement to WWD, Prada said the brothers were photographed “in moments of reflection and introspection. It is a symbolic yet understated approach to desire in men’s wear; a new classicism with a rebel edge.”
