London born American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour traveled to Buckingham Palace where she was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
Wintour told reporters that “it’s a great honour. Many of my American colleagues are not quite sure what it is. I’ve worked very hard to support British fashion in the States through the exhibition called Anglomania, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and my support of designers like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.”
Wintour’s OBE comes in honor of her great contribution to British journalism and fashion in America. The fashion power player accepted her award in a Chanel suit and a fur stole.
