Michael Angel 2011 Resort Collection

New York designer Michael Angel stays true to his signature look of using digital prints and innovative fabrics to create a resort collection that speaks to the whimsical moods of summer romance.

This collection takes a woman through the phases of summer love, expressed in a color palette that embraces the turbulent reds of passionate abandon, the tranquil, sexy cool blues of satisfying affection, and lastly, the melancholy orange and brown shades of a summer break-up.

Angel is a master at positioning digitally printed fabric to enhance the feminine silhouette. This collection is no exception. Instead of using structure and cut to highlight a woman’s natural curves, the designer relies on strategically placed color gradients to emphasize form and shape.

This collection includes looks that range from loose beach dresses and smart separates to hot cocktail dresses.

From his asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder firehouse red dress to his adventurous, water-colored cocktail kaleidoscopes, Michael Angel proves once again that his looks are not for shrinking violets and wallflowers. Angel also recognizes that resort is no longer about poolside garments and comfortable kaftans that fit over bikinis. Contemporary women are looking for clothing lines that take them through every juncture of their resort day.

Since 2008, Angel has been designing fashion-forward clothing for women who want art-inspired statement pieces. And with this collection, he did not disappoint.
