The Spring 2022 Shows in London, Milan and Paris Offer Plenty of Makeup Inspo
There were lots of cool makeup looks at New York Fashion Week Spring 2022. Hello, glitter cat eyes. But London, Milan and Paris also had plenty to offer. So we searched all the European fashion capitals’ latest presentations to compile the best Spring 2022 makeup looks.
Winged eyeliner proved popular. The models at Balenciaga sported dramatic black winged liner, while those walking for Christian Dior rocked tiny double wings. We even saw a neon twist at Versace where the models dazzled in stacked blue and green versions.
When it came to lips, shades of red were everywhere. Classic red lips made an appearance at Saint Laurent, while models wore dark red lipstick that bordered on black for a more goth look courtesy of Supriya Lele. Meanwhile at DROMe, burgundy lips were paired with eye-opening peach liner. It’s a surprising color combo that totally works.
Clean skin was also in. Take Rejina Pyo where foundation-free complexions were on deck. The models representing Victoria/Tomas also donned natural skin with the addition of some gloss on lids, lips and cheeks for a glowing finish.

Paul & Joe Spring 2022
The asymmetrical eye makeup was a total knockout. Makeup artist Georgina Graham painted on shapes like rainbows and clouds for a unique runway look. It’s a chic spin on face paint.
Rejina Pyo Spring 2022
Foundation-free was the name of the game. Models walked the runway looking completely natural. Some even showed off their blemishes and undereye circles. Now this is a beauty look we can get behind.
Supriya Lele Spring 2022
The 90s are back as evidenced by the makeup at the Supriya Lele show. Lead makeup artist Hiromi Ueda created a grungy, almost black lip using MAC Cosmetics.
Richard Quinn Spring 2022
At the Richard Quinn show, the vibe was alien chic. Models walked the runway with bleached brows and virtually no color on their faces. In fact, the show’s hairstylist Sam McKnight called the models "alien angels."
Eftychia Spring 2022
One of the most dramatic eye makeup looks came courtesy of Eftychia. Makeup artist Rebecca Wordingham painted on exaggerated, pointy smoky eyes for major edge.
Versace Spring 2022
Talk about a color explosion. Pat McGrath created a two-toned neon green and blue winged eye makeup look for Versace by using eyeshadow from one of her palettes along with lime and aqua paints.
Etro Spring 2022
Makeup artist Lisa Butler applied rhinestone and metallic studs underneath eyes at Etro. She finished the look with pink cheeks and lips for the ultimate fantasy makeup moment.
DROMe Spring 2022
For DROMe, makeup artist Karin Borromeo paired peach eyeliner with burgundy lipstick. This was one unexpected color combo that really made an impression.
Francesca Liberatore Spring 2022
Models had white pigment applied all over their lids and even over their brows and up to their temples. It mimicked the white splotches featured in the collection.
Fendi Spring 2022
The bronzed blush has us yearning for summer. Makeup artist Peter Phillips blended a variety of shades, including caramel, peach and yellow, to create the multidimensional look. He also applied bronze wings that blended into cheeks for one cohesive look.
Balenciaga Spring 2022
Balenciaga opted for a classic cat eye. Makeup artist Inge Grognard drew on thick black wings but kept faces bare so eyes were the star of the show.
Saint Laurent Spring 2022
You can’t get more French than the red lips seen at Saint Laurent. While models’ lips were defined, they were also slightly blurred for a carefree finish.
Victoria/Tomas Spring 2022
One of the few minimal (and wearable) makeup looks was seen at Victoria/Tomas. Natural faces were finished with a dab of gloss on cheeks, lids and lips for a dewy effect.
Acne Studios Spring 2022
Undereye crystals weren’t the only sparkle sent down runways. A few of the models at Acne Studios showed off sequin-covered lips paired with matte skin.
Christian Dior Spring 2022
The double winged eyeliner was double the fun. Makeup artist Peter Phillips drew two wings on models’ lids for a graphic look.
