We should’ve known this was coming after she opened the show during New York Fashion Week in September: Abbey Lee Kershaw stars in the Spring 2015 advertising campaign for Hugo Boss. Jason Wu tapped the Aussie beauty to front his second campaign for the German brand and kept photographic duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin from last season to lens the images. The womenswear campaign is fresh and simple with a modern twist as Abbey sports a blunt blond wig, while standing before a classic studio backdrop, allowing the clothes and accessories to do the talking. Abbey previously fronted the Hugo by Hugo Boss campaign back in 2011.

Our forum members had mixed reactions toward the new campaign. “Why did they give Abbey that god awful hairstyle? The hair from the runway show would have looked so much sleeker. I can’t even look at anything else,” slammed valliaddict.
Benn98 was also underwhelmed with the result and echoed, “Eek! Not what I expected, Abbey doesn’t look her best here. Hopefully the rest will be better.”
GivenchyHomme just simply wasn’t feeling Hugo Boss’ offering this season and proclaimed, “I prefer last season’s campaign with Edie. Abbey isn’t doing it for me.”
Opinions shortly changed inside the thread, though. “I like Abbey’s pic a lot. It seems that they continued the idea of last season, but it’s an improvement so kudos to Abbey,” enthused a satisfied Avogadro.
“In love with Abbey’s picture as well. I don’t mind the hairstyle so much, it’s very Abbey and Abbey is just pure love,” shared a positive anlabe32.
Nepenthes was also a fan: “I actually really love Abbey’s shot!”
“Love Abbey’s presence, kinda breaks with the brand’s overall boredom imo,” stated kokobombon.
Charlie Siem is the face of the menswear campaign. Check out his shot for Hugo Boss’ Spring 2015 ad campaign inside the thread and join the discussion here.
