We automatically think of Karl Lagerfeld as the creative director of Chanel, but magazine fans know that the German designer often photographs covers for Numéro, Vogue Brazil and Harper’s Bazaar, amongst others. The 81 year old recently shot Lindsey Wixson for ELLE Japan’s December 2014 cover and now the same shoot turns up on ELLE Russia’s January 2015 cover. Lindsey looks ready for the wintry weather of Russia as she sports a vibrant pink parka coat by Fendi, while clutching a Lagerfeld keyring created by the designer himself.

Forum members voiced their opinions within minutes of the cover surfacing. “Terrible…Russian Vogue and ELLE are a perfect match in January. This one is slightly better I must admit,” commented Srdjan.
“Dear oh dear… what is happening to Russian fashion magazines… after an absolutely horrific Vogue cover now this!” wrote a heavily underwhelmed KissMiss.
“Karl Lagerfeld shouldn’t be allowed to shoot covers and editorials,” coutugh simply informed us.
Also not feeling it was GlamorousBoy, who used the word “terrible” to describe Russian ELLE‘s offering this month.
Thanks to meidude, we’re treated to some digital previews of the fashion stories. But Benn98 wasn’t impressed and posted, “So many reprints? This does not bode well. ELLE Russia used to be one of the best in the country.”
