Women over 50 are unfortunately an infrequent occurrence down at newsstands. When it does happen, it’s an immediate cause for celebration. Vogue Poland deserves applause this month with two out of three of the magazine’s October 2021 cover stars being women over 50. At 83, Jane Fonda fronts Polish Vogue‘s latest posing for Molly Matalon on the first of three covers. A 63-year-old Andie MacDowell stars on cover number two photographed by Daria Kobayashi Ritch, while Dudi Hasson captures Polish actress Sandra Drzymalska in the great outdoors for the third and final cover.
Two covers felt the wrath of our forum members. “I like the idea. Not sure about the execution,” admitted Ivancica.
“Andie MacDowell looks awful mostly because of makeup and lighting,” GivenchyAddict called out.
“Whatever her age, Andie deserves to be photographed better than an extra from Dynasty who’s just realized an asteroid is about to fall on their head,” proclaimed a disapproving tigerrouge.

“They should have just gone with the Jane cover or the Sandra cover and be done with it. Andie is a living doll. She is so lovely and they published that picture? Criminal,” said dfl-001.
“We encounter Jane Fonda on magazine covers quite regularly, but Andie MacDowell is an extremely rare sight and Vogue Poland did her a total disservice here. What a wasted opportunity with such an unattractive and unflattering cover image,” complained vogue28.
“Can’t find a reason to be excited for any of them…” voiced oaklee91.
But versustito couldn’t disagree more calling the covers “amazing.”
“The covers are great, except for Andie’s because she looks awful,” critiqued VogueGirl8910.
