The International Woolmark Prize winner for menswear will be announced on Friday and ahead of the big day, each of the five labels up for judging has put out a video teasing their collections created for the competition.
Australia’s Strateas.Carlucci, the UAE’s The Emperor 1688, Asger Juel Larsen of Denmark, Sise from Japan and the USA’s Public School each put together a fashion film related to their respective six-piece collections, some actually showing a piece from the range, others simply capturing a mood.
Each label is competing for $100,000 AUD and the chance to sell their pieces at retailers across the globe, like Italy’s 10 Corso Como, Britain’s Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hong Kong’s Joyce, Matches Fashion and more. High-collared turtlenecks seem to be all the rage with this crop of designers. WWD published a sneak peek of a few of the looks that will be presented on Friday and of the five, three of them boast oversized turtlenecks.
