Prince Chenoa and Jacob Dekat are the duo behind Galore, an online media platform with a quarterly print publication that “celebrates beauty, femininity and sex appeal with a downtown sensibility” and Kitten, a talent and modeling agency launched with ONE Management that represents models, photographers, stylists, DJs and athletes, helping them capitalize on their social media following. Given that they spend a good part of their day working with social media celebrities, we asked the duo to share with us their top five tips for building a following.
Come with Attitude
The real world is filled with boring characters. For online, be bold and stand out.
Make People Laugh
Always Be Shooting
This is honestly one of the most important things of all. Regardless of whether you are a model, stylist, photographer or just a girl who is hungry to stand out, always be shooting. And the people who stand out are posting three to five times per day. You almost feel like they are everywhere.
Collaborate
And speaking of always shooting, do it with people who have their own vision and style. It leads to great and diverse work. That is one of the many reasons why we love @gypsyone, with whom we work. Every day she is either modeling or shooting somewhere new around the world and with different people, and it makes her feed so interesting and transporting.
Stick to Your Vision
The things that make people good on social media are really the same things that make any good brand pop and stand out. With @kittengalore, we only post about sexy, creative and fearless women and with that, people who follow us always know what they are going to get. Well…that and the occasional boy! You annoy or bore people just once or twice and you lose them.
