This season’s Alexander McQueen’s Fall/Winter collection felt more like a couture show than a ready-to-wear one.

From hugely plumped-up lips and ghostly pale skin, to what appeared to be lampshades and petite umbrellas placed atop the models heads – this season’s McQueen collection has a delectable dose of drama in it.

That said, when it came to the fashions the British designer delivered with great success looks that in many cases were wearable – and in all cases remarkable – from elaborately ruffled and stripped tops to nods to Chanel tweed suits and beautifully constructed gowns McQueen proves that despite all the commercialization and fear around him fantasy and drama can still shine.
