News & Runway

The overall feeling was a mix of preppy meets downtown-chic – somewhat of a departure from the rock aesthetic I was expecting from Eric Kim (especially given the brick trompe l’oeil runway). Interestingly enough, a few weeks ago I bought some high-waisted shorts with a bow-tie detail and ruffles protruding a bit from the top at Zara, and I’ve seen near identical ones pop-up at the Monarchy, Eli Tahari and the Andy & Debb show. The obi belt also made an appearance (as it did in Ports 1961 and Charlotte Ronson, among many others this season so far), most notably belting a khaki twill belted skirt that was paired with a white organza shirred sleeveless top.

The men’s looks ranged from slim-fitting pant suits to more casual looks paired with scarves and color glasses, creating a cool geek-chic look.
