If there’s one thing the Olsen twins are associated with more than their Venti Starbucks cups, it would be their over-sized sunglasses. Fittingly, the design mavens, who have this year expanded their lower priced Elizabeth & James line with shoes (in conjunction with Steve Madden) and costume jewelry (in collaboration with Robert Lee Morris) are now branching out with sunglasses for their high-end The Row line.



Set to launch in the spring, the luxury eyewear collection will be produced via a licensed partnership with Linda Farrow Eyewear.  Farrow produces high-end eyewear for a slew of other brands as well including Bernard Wilhelm, Dries Van Noten, and Jeremy Scott.  The four styles in the duo’s first collection will retail for between $325 and $390. The four styles include a classic metal aviator, an oversize square frame, vintage-inspired brow-line rims, and a pair of round shades taken from the Sixties – all of which will be sold at Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman, among other retailers.


While footwear and handbags may also one day be in the works for now, Ashley Olsen remarked that they’re “testing the market first and obviously these are four very different silhouettes, so we’re seeing what people are responding to, and we’ll open up a couple more silhouettes for fall. We tried to find certain pieces that look good on more than one face, to pay close attention to how they fit certain faces and make them wearable at the same time.”
