All of his creations were fashioned after fantasy, Cinderella ball gowns with tight, corseted bodices that flowed into full, puffy cotillion-like skirts. Some of these pieces were more wearable than others, but Harvey’s expert construction and eye for detail elevated his work from just a tongue-in-cheek homage to sustainable clothing to real pieces of art. Instead of dour, serious human clothes hangers walking precipitously down the catwalk, Harvey’s production team and models brought a joy and sass that is sadly missing from many current productions.  

Gary Harvey demonstrated with this collection that, instead of buying new pieces every season, clothing can be deconstructed and reworked into new garments that wow and pop. And in this recession, that is a much needed sustainable option.
