All the September 2021 Magazine Covers We Loved and Hated
There’s no question that the September issues are big deals. We admit that we look forward to them and always expect big things. The September 2021 covers are definitely a pretty mixed bag, though. Some truly excel. Others really miss the mark.
On our best list? British Vogue’s glowing portrait of Gemma Chan. As well as Vogue Australia’s stunning beach shot. The embellished dress featured on Vogue Spain is absolutely stunning. And Margaret Zhang kicks off her tenure at Vogue China in striking fashion.
We are certainly less than thrilled with Beyoncé’s Harper’s Bazaar covers, however. Along with Selena Gomez’s Marilyn Monroe makeover on ELLE. Vogue Japan’s multi-model cover falls flat. So does American Vogue‘s. Although we appreciate the fact that it celebrates diversity.
Here are all the September 2021 magazine covers that impress and the ones that disappoint.
Love the diversity just not the layout.
We’re always down for seeing Beyoncé grace a September issue, but this is downright disappointing.
We prefer the subscribers’ offering.
Not 100 percent on board with the styling.
Between the sunrise and Gemma Chan’s shimmering gold gown, what’s not to love?
Props for putting the focus on beauty.
Not one of the mag’s better multi-model covers.
Harper's Bazaar UK
A bit of a letdown.
We’re on the fence about the fists…
Margaret Zhang nails it with her first issue.
Marie Claire Australia
Nicole Kidman’s almost baby bangs are a little distracting.
More questionable styling.
Too neutral for September.
Dazzling from the dress to the background to the fonts.
Vogue Hong Kong
Adut Akech (always) delivers.
There’s something so striking about the composition here.
Marie Claire France
Feels more July than September.
The coat plus the swimsuit is such a strange combo.
We just wish Awkwafina’s hands weren’t in her pockets.
Not sure exactly what this is supposed to be…
