On a rainy spring evening in April, the pretty people gathered for a good cause.  Fashion insiders were invited to a Silent Auction at Ports 1961 Gallery on New York City’s 9th Avenue to view and purchase works by photographers Lorin Crosby and Patrick de Warren, with assistance from make-up artist Deborah Alitzio. Organized by Curtain Up Events in conjunction with City Magazine, the tiny gallery was packed with altruistic art lovers.  Proceeds from the sale were donated to National Animal Rescue.

Cocktails were served by Darryl Roberts (DR Mixologist) who cheerfully informed us that the multi-colored drinks were a combination of red wine and elderflower liqueur. Scrumptious hors d’oeuvres were provided by Counter. We loved the dried apricots heaped with a gorgonzola cheese, and almond mixture drizzled with organic honey. Lucky attendees received gift bags packed with free copies of City, Marie Claire and Vogue, as well as fast drying Seche Vite topcoat nail polish, and a trio of lip glosses from Smashbox.

The lively and generous crowd included event co-coordinator Danielle Bobish, up-and-coming designer Chelsea Sutrisno, photographer Stephanie Badini, star stylist Asanti Austin and his assistant Alana Hudkins (who wore hand painted shoes by Aaron T. Hinds), worldwide business consultant Pascal DiNoia, Pamela Governale of Plum Design (she created the organic anti-wrinkle pillow), and event photographer Andrew Fitzsimon.
