The Golden Globes Was One Giant Peep Show

As the precursor to the Oscars, the Golden Globes is often a rowdier award show where A-listers let down their hair and let up on stiff sartorial rules. This season, actresses staged a peep show on the red carpet with sheer dresses, bold cut-outs and plenty of midriffs.

First up: Emily Blunt, who gave us déjà vu in a white Michael Kors gown with a belly-baring cut-out. Last year, the Into the Woods actress strolled out in a gold Michael Kors dress with another sexily sliced bodice. Hey, when you know what works… Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike followed suit, showing off a little skin in an ethereal Vera Wang ivory gown, just weeks after giving birth to her second child.

Models Behati Prinsloo and Chrissy Teigen also stepped up their red carpet game in Kaufmanfranco and Zuhair Murad, respectively. But the most buzz circled around Kate Hudson in a saucy Versace and singer Lorde, who made the rounds in a custom black Narciso Rodriguez suit and crop top. That little number gave us nostalgia for Julia Roberts’ Golden Globes cameo in 1990 sporting a menswear-inspired suit during her acceptance speech for Steel Magnolias. We give it a solid two thumbs up.
