Neck Scarves Are THE Breakout Accessory of Summer

When was the last time you wore a neck scarf? In all likelihood, it may have been the time you starred as Frenchy in your seventh-grade production of Grease or perhaps it was after Mrs. Taylor caught you skipping Algebra with Matt what’s-his-face. The details are fuzzy. But this season, the neck scarf is making a major comeback.

The buzz started back in September when designers across the globe rallied behind the forgotten accessory. Saint Laurent and Tommy Hilfiger channeled 70s groupies with long, thin, knotted scarves, while Tom Ford and Acne Studios brought back the 90s choker — this time with silk foulards. And who could forget Frida Giannini‘s last collection at Gucci? The knotted neckerchiefs were the main attraction.

Since then, silk kerchiefs and bandanas have been multiplying overnight. Suffice it to say, neck scarves have officially replaced your statement necklace.
